Herb Ouida is an attorney by training and background whose life was completely changed on September 11 when he lost his son Todd at the age of 25. His family decided to create a foundation in the name and memory of their son which is dedicated to helping children who suffer from anxiety disorders and depression. www.MyBuddyTodd.org The Foundation has donated more than a million dollars to various social service agencies and has created an endowed lecture and research grant on the subject of the need for early intervention at the University of Michigan
Herb devoted 26 years to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. These ranged from an attorney handling litigation and employee personnel matters to international business development management positions. During his tenure at the Port Authority he accepted a one-year leave of absence at the request of the Mayor of the City of New York to manage a city agency responsible for ground transportation regulation. In 1995 he began eight years of service as the Executive Vice President of the World Trade Centers Association. He has recently returned to the WTCA in a senior capacity.
Herb has served as the Chairman of the Bergen County Human Services Advisory Board, as a Board Member of Youth Consultation Services and the North Jersey Media Group. He also serves on the Bergen Community College Advisory Board for the Philanthropy and Leadership Institute. He has served as President and many other positions at Central Unitarian Church in Paramus, New Jersey.
